 Plutarch and the Spartan

“The admiration that Plutarch felt for the Spartan society led him to write highly of the Spartan life he haven’t even seen for himself.”

“So you are saying that Spartan didn’t have superhuman immunity to pain?”

“I am just saying that you need to question everything you read. Everyone writes the world as they see them. He might have researched well alright, but there are different version of the same truth. When in doubt, people who admire them will believe every compliment and reject every insult, although there is no enough evidence for either, that is just how it works”
